Birds:
24 hours lighting should be maintained from first day to 2nd
week of rearing.
Then start to reduce 1 hour light hour per week upto 14 week of age. From 14th week
continuous 12 hour
lighting should be ensured
Continuous 12 hours lighting should be maintained at growing
age i.e. from 14
to 18 weeks of age
At the start of laying eggs i.e. at 18 week of age if the
birds gain their
expected body weight then lighting hour should be increased at 13 hour and the light should
be
increased by half an hour every week upto 25 weeks of age
From 25 weeks of age continuous 16 hour lighting should be
maintained till the
last laying date
N.B.
Total lighting hours should be ensured by adding artificial lighting to daylight।
Increasing or decreasing the hours of light should be increased or decreased by the beginning of
the
day in one week, at the end of the day in the following week
It is important to note that within 12 weeks the hen's weight is 40-50 grams higher than the
ideal
weight and 50% egg production should be ensured at 21 weeks of age
The temperature of the house should be kept between 10-26 ° C as the ideal temperature for laying
egg
ranges between 15-23 ° C
