Ways to survive from the transmission of different contagious diseases:
All persons or visitors entering the farm will have to wash their hands and feet in disinfectant water after wearing certain shoes and clothes for the farm
Need to spray disinfectant once a week on farm fence, macha and surroundings
Waste need to be disposed regularly
Dead birds need to be quickly removed from the farm and burned in the incinerator or dumped in deep holes
Sick birds need to be removed from the farm
If not removed, the diseased bird will need to be cared in a separate room and provide appropriate treatment
The soil of farm surroundings need to be reversed for every 3-4 months interval or new soil should be added to the site
Feed must be stored in a clean environment and mycotoxin feeds cannot be fed to birds
Feeder and drinker should be cleaned regularly. Keep feeder and drinker in such a height that birds can not pollute them
Keep farm and feed safe from rats, cats or any other animal or pest
De-beaking of Birds:
The best way of de-beaking bird is to give slight heat (2-4 mm) to trim beak at 8-10 days of age with a machine
Or one third upper beak should be cut off from 2mm infront of nostril. Lower beak should be cut minimum than upper beak.
De beaking should be done during the cold of the day by experienced people and good machines (the machine's blade is heated at 815oC and become red)
Before 1-2 days of de-beaking birds should be supplied water mixed with antibiotics and vitamin K.
After 3 daysof de-beaking, some electrolyte and vitamin C are mixed water should be supplied to birds. In addition, multivitamins or WSOs may also be given.
De-beaking is not allowed for laying and diseased birds or birds to be vaccinated two days after. Low heated or blunt blade should not be used for de-beaking purpose
After de beaking, additional nutrient rich feeds sould be provided frequently to the chicken over and over again.
At the time of de-beaking, birds should be kept in a stable or normal position, preventing them from climbing up and down.
Causes and Remedies of Reduced Feed Intake and Egg Production:
Causes Remedies
70% of an egg is water, If water % get decresed Supply sufficient water
Diseased or lice and worm infestation Provide preventive medicine, lice destroying medicine and anti helminthetics with feed and water at every 2-3 months interval
Sudden change of space and light of house Space should not be changed when birds starts to lay and ensure 16 hours lighting in the whole laying period
Climate Change Try to keep the environment cold during summer season, provide cold water mixed with vitamin C, fed pellet, increase the number of feeder and drinker etc.
Moreover, egg production may be reduced during vaccination and de-beaking ---
