Selection of feed supply system:
Divide the calculated amount of required roughage and concentrate for each animal into equal two part
Supply the feed individually at every morning and afternoon
Every morning: Concentrate → Water→ Fresh grass/Silage/UMS or Both
EveryAfternoon: Concentrate → Water→ Fresh grass/Silage/UMS or Both
In simple term, if an animal require 30 kg roughage and 3 kg concentrate per day then 15 kg roughage and 1.5 kg concentrate should be provided in the morning and rest in the afternoon.
Supply adequate water after concentrate feeding and always keep drinking water well.
Updating Feed Supply
Take weight of each animal at every 10/15 days interval
Calculate the required feed amount according to the weight of each animal and supply them accordingly
If the animal consume all the feed supplied to them then extra sufficient amount roughage should be provided
Feeding Management:
The calf should be fed only with colostrum for 1-4 days
The calf should be practiced to feed roughage and concentrate along with milk up to 4-6 weeks
After 6 weeks of birth the amount of milk should be decreased gradually and amount of roughage and concentrate should be increased
Calf suckling should completely be stopped within 10-12 week of age
Milk replacer can be fed instead of milk after 4 days of birth
Daily feed should be supplied following the calculation of meal calculator depending on body weight and milk production
The amount of roughage and concentrate displayed in the meal calculator should be provided to the animals half in the morning and half in the afternoon
Every time you must supply sufficient drinking water after concentrate feeding
If the animal consume all the roughage supplied to them then extra sufficient amount roughage (Fresh grass/ UMS/ Silage) should be provided
Milk Replacer Preparation:
To produce 1 litre milk replacer
Powder milk 70 gm
Rice/Wheat/Maize powder 20 gm
Soybean oil 07 mg
Salt 1 gm
DCP 1.5 gm
Vitamin-mineral premix 0.5 gm

To prepare edible milk replacer, add 900 ml water with 100 ml milk replacer (100 ml. milk replacer and 900 ml water= 1L, 1:9 ratio) and boil them for 5 minutes. Calf should be fed after refrigerating it at 40oc.
