Open House:
This type of house should be built considering 100 square feet space for each
adult
animal and 20 square feet for calf and other young animals.

Cow shed:
A guideline is given here about the required space per adult
cows. House
should be extended in right or left side considering the same manner.
Maternity Shed:
This room should be of 120-160 square feet and have adequate
light and
ventilation facilities.
Calf shed:
This room should be construct to facilitate 5-20 calves
simultaneously
considering that each calf require 20 square feet space
Cow Calf:
Buffalo calf:
In case of improved management, calves can be classified into
three
categories:
Below 6 months (20 sq.ft space for each)
6-12 months (30 sq.ft space for each)
Above 1 year (50-60 sq.ft space for each)
Separate room can be built for each calf.
However, there should always be enough feed and clean water in
calf
shed.
Bull shed:
An adult bull requires 150 square feet space (15 feet long and
10 feet
wide)
Isolation shed:
It should be located far away from other animal shed. The
measurement of
the house will be 120-150 sqare feet.
Quarantine Shed:
After bringing a new animal from outside the shed it should be
kept in a
separate house for minimum 7 days to test whether it is affected with any disease or
not

near the entrance of the farm
The house will be 120-150 sq. ft.
